What I’m NOT Going to Teach You

I'm not a social media consultant. I'm not an online marketing expert. Copywriting guru? Nah. Graphic designer? I can use Canva, but nope.

All of these things are extremely important to your (and my) success, and I've got a guy (or girl) for all of that. In fact, all my resources and experts can be found here. I know how to do it, but I'm no expert.

If you're anything like me, you dream of waking up to birds chirping and not your alarm, getting a quick but intense workout in, grabbing your Macbook and heading to Starbucks for your daily latte, writing today’s’ blog post, and watching a hundred people sign up for your online course where you get to help people do something they didn't think was possible for them. And when you teach them how to do that thing, they go on to help a hundred more people improve their lives!

Sounds pretty great, right?

But you have no freakin clue how to build a website, and there are 7 million website developers out there fighting for your non-existent money to build your site for you. You can’t afford to hire some developer to do it for you. Um, hello – that’s why you want to make some money online – you don't have any!

You’re smart, you’re motivated, and you know how to use the Google machine. But all the results it spits out assume you’re an idiot or that you’ve been coding since birth.

You know what you should be doing – all the online business experts you subscribe to tell you – but they never tell you how, do they?

Can’t someone just show you how to put it all together? Well, like your favorite episode of Friends, I'll be there for you.

My expertise is in building WordPress websites. Building the foundation that supports all those things I'm NOT going to teach you. I'm a secret tech-nerd who has obsessively figured out WordPress at my day job for at least 7 years. I'm definitely willing to spend money, but not on things I can figure out for myself. I'm not a programmer, but I'm a WordPress super user and I know when it's worth it to pay the experts and when it's not.

And I'm going to give away all my secrets so that you don't have to go through the pain of reading a million condescending discussion posts referring you to something called the Codex. So you don't waste your time on the wrong layouts and the wrong pages.

Learn the website first. Learn it even if you hire someone to do it for you. It supports everything else you need to do with your business. It gives you the FREEDOM to hire and fire web developers. It gives you the freedom to cut costs when you need to. It gives you total control over your business, and it supports all the other stuff.
